Here is the scan of the list of 702 trees to be removed in Bangalore City by the BMP to ease traffic congestion. Yet, the question needs to be asked: will the cutting of roadside trees really solve the problem of traffic congestion, or will the increased traffic only add to the congestion of our chests?

Several of these trees have already been fully cut or partially cut -- the only reason more trees haven't been cut is because of the active intervention of the city's citizens. If you are surprised to find trees in your neighbourhood being felled, then take action -- form neighbourhood watch groups, call the forest department, challenge the contractors, stop the tree cutting...
