Workshop: 'Judicial Enforcement of Environmental Law in Karnataka'
Background
ESG in partnership with the Karnataka Judicial Academy, Bangalore and the Environmental Law Institute, USA conducted a two-day Workshop on �Judicial Enforcement Of Environmental Law In Karnataka�. Conducted in August 2002, this workshop was specifically for subordinate (lower court) judiciary. The goal of this program was to strengthen the judiciary�s capacity to enforce environmental laws and regulations at the lower court level. Participants included 25 judges of the subordinate judiciary in Karnataka, 10 public prosecutors from Karnataka and 5 representatives from NGOs.
